Flexible Primary Teacher - Build a Working Week That Suits You
Job description
Flexible Primary Teacher – Build a Working Week That Suits You
Croydon & Surrounding Areas
£170 – £250 per day | PAYE
Flexible Supply | Guaranteed Work Scheme | Full-Time & Part-Time
What would your ideal teaching week look like?
Three days teaching and two days for yourself?
Five days of work, but without taking the marking home?
Regularly returning to a handful of local schools rather than committing to one school full-time?
Or maybe you simply want to enjoy being in the classroom again without everything else that can come with a permanent teaching position.
If any of those sound familiar, we'd like to speak with you.
Teaching Personnel are looking for qualified Primary Teachers across Croydon and surrounding areas who want to do things a little differently.
We're not looking to tell you what your working week should look like.
Tell us what you'd like it to look like, and we'll see how we can make it work.
Supply doesn't have to mean "day-to-day"
We know one of the biggest concerns around supply is the uncertainty.
Where am I going tomorrow?
Will there be enough work?
Am I going to be somewhere different every day?
It doesn't necessarily have to work like that.
We work with a large number of local primary schools and aim, wherever possible, to build consistency for the teachers working with us.
That could mean returning regularly to schools you already know, agreeing certain days each week or combining flexible supply with longer-term bookings.
And for suitable teachers, there's another option.
Guaranteed Work Scheme (GWS)
Teaching Personnel's Guaranteed Work Scheme is designed for teachers who want the flexibility of supply with some additional security.
You agree the days you're available to work and, subject to the terms of the scheme, Teaching Personnel guarantees work on those agreed days.
So if you'd like to work:
Monday – Wednesday? Let's talk.
Three or four days each week? Absolutely.
Five days, but with the flexibility of supply? We can discuss that too.
GWS won't be right for everyone, and that's fine. We'll explain how it works and you can decide whether it fits what you're looking for.
Who would this suit?
This could be a great option if you're:
-
A qualified Primary Teacher looking for a better work-life balance
-
An experienced teacher thinking about stepping away from permanent teaching
-
Returning to teaching after some time away
-
An ECT looking to experience different schools
-
Already doing supply but looking for something more consistent
-
Working part-time and looking to fill additional days
-
Looking for regular teaching without necessarily wanting your own permanent class
-
Simply ready for a change
We're looking for teachers with UK QTS who are confident working across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2.
You can still have a "regular school"
Flexible teaching doesn't mean you can't become part of a school community.
Many of our teachers build relationships with particular schools and are requested back for PPA cover, sickness, training days, interventions and longer-term cover.
The more a school gets to know you, the more likely they are to ask for you again.
For us, that's the ideal situation – flexibility with some familiarity.
What do you get?
-
£170 – £250 per day, depending on the role and experience
-
PAYE – no umbrella companies
-
Access to Teaching Personnel's Guaranteed Work Scheme
-
Choose the days you're available
-
Full-time and part-time options
-
Regular local school work where possible
-
Opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
-
Daily, short-term and long-term bookings
-
Access to CPD and training
-
A dedicated Primary consultant who will get to know what you're actually looking for
Not actively looking?
That's fine too.
You might be reading this because you've had a difficult week.
You might have been thinking about supply for a while but aren't sure whether you'd get enough work.
Or you might just be curious about whether there's another way of teaching that would suit you better.
You don't have to make any decisions by applying.
Have a conversation with us, tell us what your ideal working week would look like, and we can explain what opportunities are available locally and how GWS could work for you.
If it works for you, great. If it doesn't, that's absolutely fine too.
Apply today and let's have a conversation about what you want your teaching week to look like.
