General Cover Teachers – Darlington
Start Date: Easter 2026 £155 per day Flexible Working
Are you a passionate and adaptable teacher looking for a new opportunity starting in Easter 2026? Our partner secondary schools in Darlington and surrounding areas are seeking enthusiastic General Cover Teachers to join their teams.
This opportunity is ideal for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable classroom experience, as well as Fully Qualified Teachers (FQTs) seeking flexible work across a range of schools.
Position Details
Role: General Cover Teacher
Location: Darlington and surrounding areas
Pay: £155 per day
Contract: Flexible – 3 to 5 days per week depending on availability
Start Date: Easter 2026
Our partner schools are located across Darlington with easy access from surrounding areas via the A1/A1(M) and A68, as well as strong public transport links across the North East.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Support students of varying abilities and learning needs.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Provide feedback to the school following lessons where required.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (support provided).
- Two recent professional references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
