Female PE Teacher – Girls’ PE – Stockport – September 2025
Position: Teacher of PE (Girls’ Curriculum Lead)
Location: Stockport, SK3
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS1–MPS6 (£32,916–£45,352) / UPS1–UPS3 (£47,472–£51,048)
Contract: Full-time, maternity cover (1 academic year)
An ambitious and inclusive mixed secondary school in the heart of Stockport is recruiting a female PE teacher to lead delivery of girls’ PE from September 2025. The role is to cover a planned maternity leave and will run for the full academic year. The successful candidate will join a thriving PE department that promotes sport for all, resilience, health, and wellbeing across the school community.
You will be teaching PE across Key Stage 3 and 4, including core PE, extracurricular sessions, and contributing to GCSE PE delivery depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver lessons that engage girls in both practical and theoretical PE

Support GCSE PE learners with components in fitness testing, analysis, and sports psychology (OCR exam board)

Run extracurricular clubs and accompany pupils to inter-school competitions

Promote a positive and active lifestyle across the whole-school setting

Lead sessions on safeguarding, body confidence, and mental health through PE
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

QTS with PE specialism
-
Experience teaching girls’ PE in a school setting
-
Confidence in delivering a range of activities (e.g., netball, dance, rounders)
-
Ability to inspire disengaged learners or those with low confidence
-
Up-to-date First Aid and safeguarding training (can be provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
