Female PE Teacher – Stockport Secondary School
Location: Stockport
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, maternity cover (minimum two terms)
Salary: Paid to scale (MPS 1–6 or UPS if applicable)
Overview:
We are currently supporting a thriving and inclusive secondary school in Stockport in their search for a dynamic and energetic Female PE Teacher to cover maternity leave. The school places a strong emphasis on physical and mental wellbeing, with outstanding sports facilities and extracurricular opportunities.
Main Duties:

Teach PE across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE PE

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that promote physical literacy and teamwork

Organise and lead after-school clubs, inter-school competitions, and enrichment activities

Assess and report on student progress in line with national standards

Collaborate with the department to continuously improve curriculum provision
Required Skills and Experience:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant PE specialism

Experience delivering PE to secondary-aged pupils, ideally including GCSE
-
A genuine passion for sport and physical activity
-
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
-
Ability to inspire and motivate a wide range of learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
