Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and highly regarded infant school in Southport, seeking to appoint a qualified or experienced Teaching Assistant to support within a Reception class from November 2026.

The Role
Working alongside the Reception class teacher, you'll play an integral role in supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing during one of the most important stages of their education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting high-quality teaching and learning throughout the school day.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Encouraging children's independence, confidence and social development through play-based learning.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
- Helping to create an engaging, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Preparing learning resources and contributing to exciting classroom activities.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents to support every child's progress.
We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
- Experience supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1.
- A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated school team.
- A genuine passion for helping young children achieve their full potential.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous but not essential.
