EYFS Teaching Assistant - Blackburn
Are you passionate about supporting young children during the most important stages of their education? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Blackburn.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or childcare professional looking to develop their career within a school-based environment. The position is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, providing the opportunity to secure a permanent role within the school.
The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically through structured learning and play-based activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS lessons and activities.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups.
- Encouraging children's early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Supporting children's personal, social, and emotional development.
- Assisting with classroom organisation and learning resources.
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with Early Years or primary-aged children.
- A Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of EYFS principles and child development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young learners.
