Date posted : 17/04/18
£54 - £60 per day + Additional Benefits

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel have a high demand for a strong Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You would be supporting primary & secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from their mainstream setting and now attend a provision who specialise in this area.

A Team Teach or relevant de-escalation qualification would be preferred, but if you feel you would be good for this role and do not hold this type of training then please still feel free to apply!

The aim of Team Teach or relevant course is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.

You will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role is known to be more challenging on a physical level and the school are interested in applicants who are into their extra circular activities outside of work.

Prior experience working in a pupil referral unit, secure unit, and young offenders institute or challenging environment is preferential.

The ideal candidate will be willing to work on a full time basis and enthusiastic about getting involved in school's extra curricular activities.

To express an interest in this role please send a copy of your CV over to Chris our SEN specialist if you wish to be considered for this role. However, if you feel this role isn't for you, but you feel you have the necessary experience in other areas then please still get in touch as we may have another position more suited!

I look forward to hearing from you!

All candidates applying to posts through Teaching Personnel must undertake or have undertaken an Enhanced Disclosure via the Criminal Records Bureau - Full assistance provided.
