Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Location: Surbiton, United Kingdom

Hourly Rate: £25 per hour

Are you passionate about teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL)? We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated ESOL Tutor to join our team in Surbiton. As an ESOL Tutor, you will have the opportunity to help individuals develop their language skills, improve their confidence, and integrate into the local community.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality ESOL instruction to a diverse range of learners, including adults and young people.
  • Assess students' language proficiency levels and develop personalized learning plans.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Teach English language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, through various instructional methods and materials.
  • Incorporate real-life and practical scenarios into lessons to enhance language acquisition.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback and assessments to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes cultural understanding and celebrates diversity.
  • Support students in developing their language skills for employment, education, and social integration purposes.
  • Collaborate with other tutors and support staff to share best practices and resources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in TESOL, Education, English, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an ESOL Tutor or relevant teaching experience in an ESOL setting.
  • Sound knowledge of ESOL teaching methodologies, approaches, and resources.
  • Familiarity with language assessment tools and proficiency frameworks, such as CEFR.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques and materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping individuals achieve their language learning goals.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
