EAL support in Bolton Primary School

  • Experience of supporting EAL pupils
  • Long term job opportunity, £50-£60 a day
  • At least 6 months experience within a school or education setting within the past 2 years

A client school in Bolton (BL1) is looking for an EAL Specialist to work alongside a group of pupils who are below the national average. The children are from a mixture of Eastern European and Asian backgrounds. The Bolton school are looking for someone who has experience working with EAL pupils, ideally in a school setting.

The Role:

The role is to start in September, the successful candidate will be expected to provide quality support in line with the KS1 Curriculum framework, specifically targeting improving communication within EAL pupils. The position does have the longevity to continue until July and this is an excellent opportunity to make an impression in a large Bolton Primary School.

The School:

The school is located in the BL1 area of Bolton, seeing children arrive in school who are working below expected levels and then by the time they leave are in line if not ahead of target. The school is located near public transport links and tends to have a mixed catchment area close to the town centre, with children attending school generally meeting the national average in attainment at the end of Key Stage 1.

The Head teacher:

The Head teacher is an established figure in school and has a vision to push the school from Ofsted Good to Outstanding in the future. She is keen to implement a strong community spirit amongst staff and parents as well maintaining high standards for behaviour as well as academic development. She has informed the agency that she is looking for a ‘committed and experienced practitioner who is keen to come into school and impact on the children’s learning’.
