Are you an English graduate looking to pursue a career in Education

Are you an English Graduate who is looking for experience in schools? Would you like to be paid to train and guarantee yourself a spot on a schools direct/teach first/PGCE?

Do you want to gain some experience tutoring pupils 1-2-1 or mentoring pupils?

Do you have EBD experience or can you focus pupils with challenging behaviours?

We have positions in and around West and South West London for English graduate Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants. You will become an integral part of the English department and learn how plan, prepare and deliver lessons. You will also learn behaviour management techniques and how to differentiate your lessons.

The graduate scheme was established in 2012 and has so far helped over twenty teachers including 4 English teachers become fully qualified.

THE ROLE:

The roles are 5 days per week, school days, so you'd typically be working 8.15-3.30ish. There will be a small amount marking and assessment involved. Working to KS3 and KS4, you will be asked to work 1-2-1 and in small groups with pupils who are struggling in their subject, helping to raise attainment and push pupils to hit their target grades.

Ideal candidates have the following -

A first or 2:1 in an English based degree

Previous tuition and/or school based experience

You must be resilient, flexible and open to suggestions in school.
