English Teacher - Tuition and Intervention

Are you a qualified English teacher looking to deliver tuition in secondary education?

Our client school in Tameside are looking for a qualified English to join the school on a full time basis, and to deliver intervention and tuition to their cohort, in particular those who are studying and working towards GCSEs.

This school is a smaller than average in size with an average pupil premium and SEN intake. Students here are predominantly of white British heritage although there are increasing numbers of students who speak English as an additional language. Attainment in the school is above national average and attainment in English and Maths is Outstanding. Ofsted recently praised the behaviour in the school and commented that students 'are keen to learn and work diligently in lessons'. In terms of leadership, Ofsted commented that 'school leaders and governors ensure that high quality learning is able to take place'.

The school is seeking to appoint an experienced and fully qualified teacher of English to work with small groups of under-achieving students at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to deliver intensive booster sessions. In addition to supporting the progress of students through withdrawal sessions, the role will also involve supporting students in lessons where this is deemed necessary. Initially taking guidance from the Head of Department, the candidate appointed to this role will eventually assume increasing responsibility for organising and planning sessions as the requirements of the role become more familiar.
