English Teacher (SEN) - September 2019

The position is for a full time specialist English Teacher. Initially the role is temporary for the first school term September 2019 - October 2019. However, there could be the opportunity for permanent dependent on the need of the setting.

The setting is a secondary special school located in the Rochdale area. The school caters for 253 pupils with a wide range of needs including: complex learning difficulties and profound learning difficulties.

In its most school OFSTED inspection the setting was graded as a 'good' secondary special school, OFSTED commented that the school were particularly outstanding in supporting pupil's social, emotional and personal development. In order to apply for this role you must be a qualified teacher and have a passion for supporting pupils with SEN.

The ideal teacher will have experience in supporting pupils with SEN in some capacity; however this is not essential as this position could be ideal for a mainstream teacher who is looking for the opportunity to gain experience within a special school.

In order to apply for this role the candidate must have:

• Qualified teacher status with a passion for supporting SEN
• An in-depth understanding of P-levels and NCL
• Team-Teach trained (desirable Teaching Personnel provide training)
• A clear understanding of differentiation and know how to adapt lessons according to the needs of pupils
