Teaching Personnel are currently working to appoint a creative and inspiring Teacher of English on the behalf of a mainstream secondary school in the Nelson area.
The position would start in September 2019, however, should the candidate be available sooner an earlier start date could be considered. The English department is a highly regarded department in school with a strong team of teachers including a member of senior leadership and a advanced skills teacher. The staff have been described as friendly and welcoming to all new staff in school. Following the AQA curriculum, experience with this exam board would be beneficial but not essential.
Candidates considering this role should have:
- Degree in an English related subject
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Evidenced pupil progression or an NQT who shows the potential to inspire pupils to excel
- A positive, pupil focused mind set
- A specialism in Biology or Chemistry (desirable NOT essential)
The school will be looking to appoint a teacher in line with main pay scale for the duration of the position. The successful candidate will be initially placed on a temporary contract, and upon the successful completion of this initial period (Autumn term) the teacher would be placed on a permanent contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced English Teachers and NQT's. With ample opportunity for staff development and progression the school has an exceptionally positive staff outlook with a community atmosphere which makes the school an excellent place of work.
If you think that this might be the right role for you then get in touch with Rob at Teaching Personnel Preston Branch now! Make an application by sending your CV and contact details ASAP!
