English Teacher

Teacher of English required for a friendly and supportive Faith Secondary School based in Preston

We are currently seeking an ambitious Teacher of English for a average sized and friendly school seeking to expand its experienced and supportive English Department with teachers with fresh ideas!

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of English at KS3 and GCSE across years 7 to 11. You will support the Head and Director of English, enhancing provision and school curriculum to ensure learners receive the best chance at attaining that all-important Grade 4 or above.

The school has a fantastic and friendly ethos and teachers will benefit from outstanding support via the SLT and great CPD and progression.

If you bring the magic back into English, by engaging learners with prospects within the STEM subject area and engaging, exciting lessons the school wants to hear from you!

The school expects:

• a UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• a relevant BA/MA in English or a related subject
• previous experience of delivering English up to GCSE level

The role is starting in September on a temporary basis to cover a Maternity leave. The school is welcoming applicants at different stages of their teaching career, therefore NQTS/RQTS are urged to apply!!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
