Job description

Tameside Secondary School require an English teacher for September 2020 due to an upcoming gap within the English department. This is a full time English position teaching KS3, GCSE level so previous experience of this is essential.  

You will be provided with the opportunity to teach English to students who are engaged within their learning and respectful to teachers. The English department has six full class teachers and is known for its welcoming environment and opportunities for regular training and self development. 

There is the potential to earn a school based contract for the successful teacher of English after an initial introduction through Teaching Personnel.

The school has recently seen an uplift in academic performance with 68% of students achieving at least 5 A*-C grades within their GCSEs. English teachers interested in this position will need to have a proven track record of raising attainment and inspiring students through your passion for teaching English and the subject itself.

The school has relatively low levels of students eligible for free school meals below 10%. Situated in Tameside area the school can be found just off the M67 and has frequent direct bus routes outside the school.
