Job Opportunity: English Teacher at Ofsted Good Secondary School in Stockport

Are you passionate about literature, language, and nurturing students' communication skills? Teaching Personnel invites applications for a dedicated English Teacher to join an Ofsted Good secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position offers stability from after Easter until the end of the academic year, with the potential for permanent placement based on exceptional performance.

Role Overview: As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a love for English language and literature while equipping students with essential communication and analytical skills. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering engaging English lessons that encompass both language and literature components, catering to students' diverse learning needs.
  2. Literary Exploration: Introducing students to a variety of literary works, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills through the exploration of texts from different genres and periods.
  3. Writing Skills Development: Providing guidance and support to help students improve their writing skills, including essay writing, creative writing, and analytical writing.
  4. Oral Communication: Facilitating opportunities for students to develop their oral communication skills through discussions, debates, presentations, and performances.
  5. Assessment and Feedback: Conducting regular assessments to evaluate student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  6. Collaborative Planning: Collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and share best practices for enhancing the English curriculum.
  7. Parental Engagement: Maintaining open communication with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns effectively.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in the UK.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level is desirable but not essential.
