To expand an already strong English department, the school that is based in Southampton are seeking to employ an outstanding teacher of English, or a teacher who shows promise and strives to be outstanding. It is an exciting time to join this department which is led by two faculty heads; they consistently deliver outstanding results and have capacity to support a teacher from NQT level through to UPS.
The school is considered to be a ‘good’ school by ofsted where the leadership team provide “strong and determined leadership aimed at ensuring high-quality education for every pupil regardless of their ability or circumstance” and “pupils make consistent progress”.
The heads of faculty are looking for someone who has a real passion for English Literature and Language and who possesses drive for raising attainment for all learners, promoting a love for the subject. All students follow the AQA English Literature and English Language curriculum.
Throughout the year the department runs several competitions to give their students opportunity to compete against other schools. They often have guest lecturers to support GCSE students with the learning and where ever possible they invite authors into school of which you would be expected to be fully immersed in.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
