English Teacher

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching qualification (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of English curriculum
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary setting
  • Experience working within a secondary school (desired)

Skills:

  • Strong behaviour management
  • Ability to adhere to schools policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with all students and staff members
  • Foster a positive learning environment for everyone

Job Duties:

The English Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging English lessons to secondary school students, in line with the curriculum. They will monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support students in their learning journey. The teacher will also maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and communicate with students and staff members professionally.

 

Working Conditions:

The English Teacher will work in a secondary school setting, following the school's academic calendar and timetable. They may be required to attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions. The role may involve working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities, requiring adaptability and cultural sensitivity.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
