Teaching Personnel are working alongside a ‘Good’ Secondary School, to support their search for a Teacher of English to start in September 2023. The school is easily accessible from the M5, in commutable distance from Exeter and surrounding areas, as well as posing good public transport links.

The Head of Department is looking for someone who can develop students enjoyment and academic achievements in English. The main duties of the role also include:

-         Illuminating a variety of genres, authors and styles of writing to read and critically evaluate,

-         Advance students cross-curricular connections and develop their comprehension skills,

-         Provide opportunities for students to develop their public speaking, formal writing and critical thinking skills,

-         Set writing tasks, demonstrating accuracy and fluently, effectively for different writing purposes,

-         To help students develop an appreciation and love of reading culminating in being able to read, understand and critically evaluate increasing challenging texts,

-         Consolidate and build on students’ knowledge of grammar and vocab,

-         A highly effective teaching practitioner with excellent subject knowledge and an excellent track record of outstanding teaching and learning.

-         Someone who passionately believes that all children can achieve, no matter what their starting point, background or needs. 

-         See tasks, plans and ideas through to completion with a relentless focus on high standards.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
