Job description

Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Guildford

Job Type: Contract, full-time hours, 8:30am-3:30pm

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £110 - £160 per day

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Classroom Experience

Skills: Teaching English, Classroom Management, Adaptability, Proactive

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress to provide feedback and support
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practises and resources
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach English to students

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or related field
  • Previous experience teaching English preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the English language and literature
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and student support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or English
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs

Working Conditions:

  • Contract position with full-time hours
  • Work in a school setting with students of varying ages and abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
