English Teacher – Dorchester

English Teacher | Secondary School | Dorchester | Full-Time | Immediate Start

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Dorchester, with the opportunity available to start ASAP.

The school is looking for someone who can deliver engaging and purposeful English lessons, build positive relationships with students and contribute to a supportive department. This role would suit an experienced teacher as well as an ECT looking to develop their career within a welcoming school environment.

About the Role

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4

  • Deliver engaging lessons covering English Language and Literature

  • Plan and prepare high-quality learning activities

  • Monitor and assess student progress

  • Encourage students to develop confidence in reading, writing and critical thinking

  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom

  • Work alongside colleagues within the English department

What We're Looking For

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school

  • Good understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching

  • Commitment to supporting students of different abilities

  • Availability to begin ASAP
