ENGLISH TEACHER – BOURNEMOUTH

Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £31,650 – £49,084 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of secondary schools across Bournemouth who are looking to appoint passionate and dedicated English Teachers from September 2026.

We are looking for teachers who are committed to providing students with an engaging, challenging and inspiring English education. These positions offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking for their next role, or an ECT looking to establish themselves within a supportive secondary school.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will inspire students to develop their confidence in reading, writing, communication and critical thinking, whilst helping them to build the knowledge and skills required to succeed at GCSE and beyond.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status or be working towards QTS as an ECT
• Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
• Have experience teaching, or be confident teaching, KS3 and KS4
• Be able to plan and deliver engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons
• Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
• Have excellent classroom management skills
• Be committed to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Be passionate about supporting students to reach their full potential
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills
• Be able to work effectively as part of a successful English department
