English Teacher – Secondary School

Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Sturminster Newton from September 2026.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced English Teacher, or an ECT looking to establish themselves in a supportive school environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining high expectations and helping students develop their confidence and skills across English.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching English to students across KS3 and KS4

• Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons

• Preparing students for GCSE examinations

• Assessing and tracking student progress

• Providing appropriate challenge and support for all abilities

• Promoting positive behaviour and a strong learning environment

• Working effectively with colleagues within the English department

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have experience teaching English within a secondary school

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the English curriculum

• Have excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Be committed to achieving high standards for all students

• Bring enthusiasm, creativity and a positive attitude to the classroom
