Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Sturminster Newton from September 2026.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced English Teacher, or an ECT looking to establish themselves in a supportive school environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining high expectations and helping students develop their confidence and skills across English.
Key Responsibilities
-
Teaching English to students across KS3 and KS4
-
Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons
-
Preparing students for GCSE examinations
-
Assessing and tracking student progress
-
Providing appropriate challenge and support for all abilities
-
Promoting positive behaviour and a strong learning environment

Working effectively with colleagues within the English department
About You
The successful candidate will:
-
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
-
Have experience teaching English within a secondary school
-
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the English curriculum
-
Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
-
Be committed to achieving high standards for all students
-
Bring enthusiasm, creativity and a positive attitude to the classroom
