Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Salary Scale: M1 – UPS2 (dependent on skills and experience)

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a committed and passionate English Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Darwen. This full-time role is available from September 2025 and offers a temp-to-perm route for the right candidate.

This is an ideal role for a teacher who thrives on challenge, is passionate about inclusive education, and is committed to supporting young people who face barriers to learning. The successful applicant will be working with small groups of students who require a nurturing and structured learning environment to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Support the development of literacy and communication skills

  • Foster a positive, supportive learning environment tailored to individual needs

  • Work closely with a dedicated team of staff, including SEN professionals and support workers

  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in alternative provisions (preferred)

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support strategies

  • A flexible, resilient, and empathetic approach

  • High expectations for all learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
