English Teacher – Secondary Alternative Provision
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm

Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate English Teacher looking for a rewarding new challenge? We are seeking a committed professional to join a well-established Alternative Provision in Darwen, supporting secondary-aged students who need a different approach to learning.

The Role:

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as those who have experienced disrupted education

  • Helping learners develop key literacy skills, confidence, and a love of learning

  • Working closely with a skilled team to provide a nurturing and structured environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching English, ideally in an alternative or SEN setting

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A flexible, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching and learning
