Looking for a Full-Time English Teacher

Open to Flexible starting time - Either ASAP or September 2024 

 

Are you a passionate and creative educator with a love for literature and language? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to provide long term cover at an excellent secondary school based in Braintree. This full-time position will commence either after Easter or September 2024, offering an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage our students in the wonders of English language and literature.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality English lessons to students across various age and ability levels.
  • Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking through engaging and interactive classroom activities, discussions, and projects.
  • Explore a diverse range of literary texts, genres, and themes to develop students' analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their writing, communication, and literacy skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the English curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching approaches and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment data, following school policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians through effective communication and involvement in school events and activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and literacy standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of literary texts, genres, and literary analysis techniques.
  • Creative and innovative approach to teaching, with a focus on student engagement and achievement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and a passion for promoting literacy and language skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
