Looking for a Full-Time English Teacher
Open to Flexible starting time - Either ASAP or September 2024
Are you a passionate and creative educator with a love for literature and language? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to provide long term cover at an excellent secondary school based in Braintree. This full-time position will commence either after Easter or September 2024, offering an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage our students in the wonders of English language and literature.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality English lessons to students across various age and ability levels.
- Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking through engaging and interactive classroom activities, discussions, and projects.
- Explore a diverse range of literary texts, genres, and themes to develop students' analytical and interpretive skills.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their writing, communication, and literacy skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the English curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching approaches and resources.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment data, following school policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians through effective communication and involvement in school events and activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and literacy standards.
- Excellent knowledge of literary texts, genres, and literary analysis techniques.
- Creative and innovative approach to teaching, with a focus on student engagement and achievement.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Dedication to continuous professional development and a passion for promoting literacy and language skills.
