Are you an English teacher looking for your next position ahead of September?

If so, Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an English teacher on behalf of a Roman Catholic secondary school based in Bolton.

  • English Teacher - 12 month temporary contract from September 2018
  • Teaching within an Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school located on the border of Bolton and Chorley
  • Teaching both KS3 and GCSE English
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£22,917 - £38,633)

Due to a member of staff unexpectedly relocating, a progressive opportunity within this forward thinking 11-16 secondary school has emerged. The Headteacher is able to offer the successful English teacher initially on a 12 month contract, however there will be the opportunity for the successful applicant to gain a permanent position following this performance dependant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a Roman Catholic school where you will receive full support during your placement from senior leaders and an experienced Head of English. The incoming English teacher will be required to teach students ranging in ability across both KS3 and KS4. With this in mind, the school are looking for an English teacher who can differentiate well and provide the highest standards of teaching and learning to all pupils no matters what their ability. The head of department is looking for an English teacher that can boost results amongst all students and stretch the learning of both more able and lower attaining.

The incoming English teacher will be required to be fully committed to taking on a full time role which will include; full lesson planning and marking responsibilities, attending departmental meeting, attending termly parents evening and running attentional intervention sessions to identified learners throughout the academic year.

The school is a relatively small school with around 860 students on roll. With the school being a Roman Catholic school it is important that you show respect for religious and moral values and an attitude of tolerance and understanding towards other religions, races and ways of life. Located in Bolton, the school is just a short drive from the M61 motorway; alternatively the public transport links are very accessible to the surrounding areas, Bury, Rochdale, Manchester and Wigan.
