English Teacher for PRU Provisions in Rotherham

Date posted : 12/02/19
£2200 - £3300 per month

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We are now recruiting qualified or newly qualified English teachers eager to work in Pupil Referral Units (PRU) in the Rotherham area.

You will join a nurturing environment with the joint focus of building pupils up both socially and academically with the hopes of re-engaging them with education and for them to potentially re-join their mainstream schools. The PRUs focus on small classes for you to teach and you will be supported by a Teaching Assistant in each one. You will be delivering English classes to students who will display challenging behaviour so here are the key traits we are looking for:

  • Able to plan, deliver and mark classroom activities- much like mainstream schools- but that are engaging enough for pupils that have difficulties focusing
  • Confident in providing 1:1 support for students struggling with their English work
  • Capable of adapting lessons to pupil's personal education plans
  • Strong but understanding approach to discipline and behaviour management in your classroom
  • Understanding of the fact that your pupil's will potentially be facing difficulties at home and this could be the underlying reason for their detachment to education

Joining Teaching Personnel will make you part of the UK's leading supply teaching agency and will open the door to many opportunities for you. We have great relationships with schools across the nation and alongside short-term contracts; we offer a temp-to-perm service which could see you on a permanent contract within the school of your choice. You will have access to a direct SEN Team who will guide you through the recruitment process and your placement in schools. Teaching Personnel are dedicated to finding the perfect role to suit you.
