TEACHING ASSISTANT NEEDED TO SUPPORT READING/WRITING AND PHONICS
With the current situation and school closures, many pupils will be returning to school in September having had no formal education or structure since March. School leaders are expecting regression in learning, mainly in the areas of reading and writing, as many parents have struggled to support this (especially for EAL pupils).
Teaching Personnel are looking for an English Graduate, or support staff member with an English specialism, to deliver tuition and intervention either 121 or on a small group basis. Many children will have a gap in their phonics understanding, or will have completely lost confidence in their reading and writing ability.
We are looking for someone who is happy to work or travel to the S25 area of Sheffield.
Our ideal English support;
- English Graduate/ English specialist teaching assistant
- Familiar with phonics
- Good understanding of expectations
- Happy to work with Primary aged children
- Can deliver interventions 121 or with a small group
- Can track progress and report back to the class teacher
Teaching Personnel can offer you;
- Weekly pay through PAYE, starting at GBP10 p/h
- A specialist consultant to support you
- Shadow days to gain an insight into the school you would like to work in
- Full or part time work to fit around your existing commitment
- Career progression if you are looking at taking the next steps to become a teacher
- Unrivalled CPD through our CPD Academy
- Rewards and recognition such as our Candidate of the Month awards
If you feel this is the role for you and you would like to support children with their reading, writing and spelling, apply today!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
