Job description

English HLTA

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary SEMH provision who is seeking to onboard a HLTA to deliver English sessions to small classes.

KS2 – KS4 SEMH provision.

Full-time (Monday – Tuesday; 8:20 – 3:20pm, Wednesday – Thursday 8:20am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:20am – 2:30pm).

ASAP start.

Blackburn area.

Temporary to Permanent contract.

Pay is dependent on skills and experience.

ECTS, HLTAs and graduates with a degree in English are encouraged to apply.

The role

As a HLTA in this provision you will have a focus on the English curriculum and to provide support to targeted individual students, small groups and classes during Key Stage 4 GCSE English lessons. You will generally work with a small group of students to ensure students’ progress and to boost their confidence. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering group work or team teaching with the main class teacher. The successful candidate will also be expected to deliver interventions to targeted students focusing on area identified by the class teacher.

The provision

The provision in based in the Blackburn area. It is an alternative Provision for students from KS2 – KS4, many of whom have found it difficult to be successful in a mainstream school.
