I work with people referral units all over Exeter and Devon and am currently seeking English graduate's to gain some experience within the education sector.
My clients are seeking graduates who specialise in English who want to work with young children who have difficulties learning within mainstream school settings. The young people you would be working with would have challenging behaviour as well as other disorders, such as ADHD, ADD and Autism.
Previous experience working with children is desirable but is not mandatory as we offer training programmes and CPD courses. We also offer trial days to make sure you are fully comfortable in the work setting you are placed in before you move forward with the role.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following skills:

- Have a real passion for children's education and futures'.
- The ability to cope with challenging behaviour.
- A professional attitude to work.
- Understand safeguarding.
- A strong regard for pupil safety and well-being.
- A positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport.
- Respect for diversity as you will be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds.
- Excellent team working ability as you'll be working with other support staff, classroom teachers and other professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, social workers, parents and carers.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
