Graduate English Learning Support Assistant - Cardiff

Graduate English Learning Support Assistant Person Specification

The school are looking for a reliable English graduate who has or looking for experience working with secondary aged children and an English degree. From previous experience this placement has been hugely beneficial for a future teacher looking to complete their PGCE. The school wants to recruit someone who has a real determination to become a successful member of the teaching profession. We want to see graduates with the drive to show their enthusiasm and commitment to education and act in a fashion that inspires excellent behaviour.

About the Graduate English Learning Support Assistant Role

As a Graduate English Learning Support Assistant your role will involve you working in different functions across the whole school. The English department is renowned in the school for its educational trips, high success rate, and modern teaching; this makes it very popular with students and teachers alike. Your duties will include helping to put together exciting, innovative lesson plan ideas that will inspire the class. Your duties will include enhancing your teaching through the remarkable resources the department has on offer which have a wholly positive effect on the pupils. Use the English Department's long list of resources and learn how to add interest to the lessons you will support in. Day-to-day, you will be working in classes across the school and running small, intervention, groups and leading 1:1 sessions.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
