Teacher – Engineering

Location: Northamptonshire
Full-time | Permanent
Recruiting on behalf of a partner Further Education College

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a leading Further Education college in Northamptonshire to recruit a skilled and motivated Teacher of Engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and inclusive college with strong vocational provision across engineering, construction, health and social care, creative industries, catering and digital. About the Role

As a Teacher of Engineering, you will deliver engaging and industry-relevant lessons across a range of engineering programmes. You will play a key role in developing learners’ technical knowledge, practical skills and employability readiness.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality engineering lessons

  • Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

  • Supporting students to achieve academic and practical success

  • Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback

  • Monitoring and tracking learner progress

  • Maintaining accurate records in line with quality standards

  • Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and wider support teams

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:

  • Experience or aptitude in coaching, tutoring or teaching

  • The ability to confidently engage and manage groups of students

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Confidence using IT/ICT systems to support teaching and administration

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • A professional and student-focused approach


Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or willingness to obtain)

  • A relevant academic qualification in Engineering or a related discipline

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS or equivalent)

OR

For industry professionals looking to transition into teaching:

  • Level 3 (or above) qualification and/or significant industry experience in a relevant engineering field

  • Willingness to undertake a teaching qualification (fully supported by the college)
