You wouldn’t be required to pre-prepare work, the lesson plans will have already been made by the teacher. Your responsibility would therefore to be to deliver the lesson, ensuring each pupil stayed on task and completed the work. You would have to collect the work in but wouldn’t be required to mark it.

To work as a Graduate Future Teacher you must therefore have:

  • Confidence to lead classes
  • A BSc or BA Degree with a subject specialism
  • Previous experience leading classes (or will complete volunteer days to increase experience)
  • An Enhanced Child Only DBS registered with the Update Service (can apply during registration process)
  • Flexibility to work across KS3 – KS4 classes
  • Good behaviour management

This role is to begin as soon as possible. For successful candidates you may be required to work within different schools in the York area. You will support both KS3 and KS4 classes. Depending on your subject specialism will depend on which subjects you support.

If you’re therefore interested in this cover supervisor position please send an up to date CV and covering letter to Umar Suleman.
