EYFS Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Thornton, FY5
Start Date: After Easter 2026
Contract: Minimum 1 year (with potential extension)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and committed EYFS Teacher to join a welcoming and well‑established Primary School in Thornton (FY5). This role will begin after Easter 2026 (13th April 2026) and is offered as a maternity cover, running for at least one full academic year, with the strong possibility of continuation.

About the Role

As part of the EYFS team, you will deliver high‑quality, play‑based learning that supports children’s development and fosters a positive start to school life. The school boasts a nurturing environment, strong leadership, and excellent collaborative practice across Early Years.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging EYFS curriculum lessons
  • Creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting children’s personal, social and emotional development
  • Working closely with support staff and EYFS colleagues
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families and the school community
  • Assessing progress in line with EYFS expectations

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS with experience in Early Years
  • Have an excellent understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Be creative, enthusiastic and dedicated to the early years journey
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Show adaptability and a positive approach to collaborative working

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
