Year 2 Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Blackpool
Start Date: 13th April 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Blackpool to cover a maternity leave starting after the Easter break.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed classroom practitioner who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering engaging and creative lessons, have strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, and be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Role Overview

  • Full-time class teacher responsibility for a lovely Year 2 class
  • Planning, preparation, and delivery of high-quality lessons
  • Contributing to assessments and tracking pupil progress
  • Working collaboratively with the KS1 team and wider school
  • Creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
  • Strong behaviour management and organisational skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude and passion for primary education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
