Role: Early Years Practitioner/Teacher
Hours: Full-time to start immediately
Salary: £100-120 per day
Teaching Personnel are working with an OFSTED graded 'Outstanding' nursery in Redland. You will be joining a team who have high expectation for the children and staff and require someone who is highly committed to the safeguarding of children and passionate about child development. The successful candidate will contribute to and support the overall development, learning and care of pre-school children. The ideal Early Years Practitioner/Teacher will contribute to the smooth running of the pre-school Provision and the maintenance of a safe and stimulating learning environment. Moreover, this new member of our staff will contribute to the development of the whole nursery.
The ideal candidate:
- Contributing to the provision of a safe and stimulating learning environment, including:
- Working as a member of a team in the delivery, planning and evaluation of a full and balanced range of learning experiences, which meet the emotional, physical, social and intellectual needs of the children in accordance with EYFS.
- Sharing responsibility for the preparation of learning areas before children arrive, both indoors and outdoors.
- Contributing to professional discussion and meetings with staff and other professionals.
- Participating at the end of the session in general clearing and tidying up, to maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing learning environment in preparation for the next day.
- Taking joint responsibility for the daily monitoring and evaluating of children's responses to learning activities, through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies.
- Participating in the general life of the nursery by attending, parents' meetings, nursery events and outings.
- Supporting the nursery's policy on parental participation, welcoming and working closely with parents.
- Helping with first aid provision, comforting sick or injured children. In emergencies, liaising with the designated first aider senior staff.
- Supporting the development of language and communication skills using solid and consistent methods such us sustained shared thinking, open ended questions.
- Understanding the varying cultural and religious backgrounds of the children and ensuring these are reflected in the learning experience.
