EAL Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Cardiff

Pay: Min. GBP60 a day

Start date: 12th October 2020

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our partner schools in the Cardiff area (Centre) for an EAL Teaching Assistant.

The role:

In this role, you would be expected to support a year 2 child with English as a second language throughout the school day (with all subjects/ lessons). You will be able to work on your own initiative, be flexible where needs be and tailor your support to the needs of the pupil effectively.

Ideal candidate:

  • Will be EWC registered and hold a child-only DBS on the update service (although Teaching Personnel can assist with this)
  • At least 6 months experience supporting children with English as a Second Language (not necessarily in a classroom setting but it is preferred)
  • TEFL / CELTA qualification
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • CACHE LEVEL 3 (not essential but preferred)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
