EAL TEACHING ASSISTANT | CAMBRIDGE

Are you looking for a rewarding Career in Education?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an inclusive primary school who is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support their EAL pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. Our Primary school is located in the heart of Cambridge close to transport links and with free parking available.

What your role will consist of -

  • You will be responsible for supporting students from 4-12 years with EAL (English as an additional language)
  • You will assist with guided reading and assist them with learning English
  • You must be prepared to work with individual students and as a group
  • You will attend staff meetings and work with the SLT to help progress the School
  • You will form relationships with Teachers, Pupils and Parents to fit into the inclusive feel of the rapidly growing school.

What they are looking for?

The successful candidate will be able to act upon their own initiative as well as being enthusiastic, patient, and possess strong pastoral skills in order to effectively mentor pupils and encourage their independence. Knowledge of Speech and Language is important and someone whom is Multilingual is desirable. Experience in a post supporting pupils with communication issues would also be desirable.

The school is a welcoming and friendly school where everyone is respected and valued. You will be working on a 1 to 1 basis with a variety of children with EAL difficulties as well as supporting small groups to aid with the progression of their English.
