Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher - SEN

Location: Cambridge

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Design and Technology Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term basis until the end of the academic year. As a Design and Technology Teacher at our partner school, you will play a crucial role in supporting learners with Autism and other diagnoses such as ADHD as they work towards completing their Level 2 qualifications in Design.

Key Responsibilities: As the Design and Technology Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Adapting your teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Supporting learners in completing their Level 2 qualifications in Design by providing engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Utilising the available overarching scheme of work to plan and deliver lessons, while also incorporating your creativity and expertise to enhance the learning experience.
  • Managing the classroom effectively and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and empowered to succeed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to supporting learners' needs.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant degree (SEN) 
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology, preferably in a special educational needs (SEN) setting or with learners with additional needs.
  • The ability to adapt your teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of learners 
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to effectively plan lessons within the provided scheme of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.

  • You will be paid to scale for this role, so whilst employed through us, you will receive a daily rate of pay equivalent to the relevant teacher pay-scale
  • Should you find yourself looking to stay with the school permanently and are offered a contract, you will move from weekly pay, to receiving an annual salary and a contract with the school
