Design Technology Teacher - Woodwork Specialism

Teaching Personnel are working with one of our partner secondary schools who are looking to appoint a full-time Teacher / Instructor. 

Start date: Monday 15th April
Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm
Location: NN10, Northamptonshire, East Midlands

This is a varied teaching role, suitable for a DT Specialist. There would be a mixture of Woodwork, Resistant Materials, IT & General Cover, with the main emphasis being on Woodwork. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop engaging and innovative lesson plans that foster creativity and practical skills in woodwork.
• Guide students through hands-on projects, from conceptualization to completion, instilling a sense of pride in craftsmanship.
• Incorporate safety protocols and best practices into all activities, ensuring a secure learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate woodwork and other mentioned subjects into cross-curricular initiatives and project-based learning opportunities.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
• Inspire a love for design, craftsmanship, and problem-solving in every student you teach.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field. 
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant certification.
• Demonstrated expertise in woodwork, with a strong portfolio of projects.
• Experience teaching Design and Technology at the secondary level preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
