Cover Teacher

With the potential for further staff shielding due to the ongoing pandemic, a school in South Manchester is seeking a Cover Teacher to cover lessons when staff are unable to attend due to absence.

Role: Cover Teacher

Location: South Manchester

Requirements for this position are as follows:

• QTS
• A degree
• Prior experience in the delivery of lessons within a secondary school environment.

The expectations of this role are as follows:

• Covering lessons due to staff absences, potentially across a wide range of subjects.
• Managing behaviour expectations, ensuring students are adhering to school policy at all times.
• Delivering lessons in accordance with pre set tasks.

Whilst there is no planning or marking associated to this position, it is expected that the required individual will be able to confidently deliver lessons in the expected manner.

Additionally:

• It will be expected that the individual will provide feedback to subject leaders/senior leaders when necessary.
• Working in collaboartion with designated support staff, to ensure students with SEN needs are catered for effectively.
• Monitoring day to day factors e.g attendence
• Taking a form group in the mornings when necessary, as well as dealing with any pastoral issues that may arise.

Pay annually for this role: GBP25, 714 - GBP41, 604

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
