Cover Supervisor - Wigan

Graduate / Student / Future Teacher/ PGCE

Are you a graduate or university student considering a career in secondary teaching?

Would you like to gain invaluable classroom management experience to decide if teaching is the career for you?

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit enthusiastic graduates and aspiring secondary school teachers to become a Cover Supervisor on a flexible day to day basis ASAP.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

  • Unqualified teaching!
  • Experience managing a class of students in the absence of class teachers
  • Providing pupils with the pre-set from the school and ensuring they remain on task
  • Great way to gain first hand experience prior to enrolling on to a PGCE/teacher training

How does it work?

  • Flexible day to day lesson cover when teachers are absent due to sickness or training
  • Short notice supply work - Usually a call on the morning once schools informed us
  • Starting September
  • Earn a daily rate of £57 (8:30 - 3:30)
  • Work around your own availability! e.g. 1-5 days a week (great for students and graduates)
  • Great way to be introduced to a supportive secondary school in Wigan

Applicant requirements

  • Previous experience with young very desirable but not essential (e.g. tutoring, youth work, support work)
  • Be passionate about working with young people
  • Have a suitable DBS or be willing to apply for one through us
