Cover Supervisor (Maths Focus) – Full Time

Start date: ASAP

We are seeking a committed and resilient Cover Supervisor with a strong Maths focus to join a specialist learning centre in Christchurch on a full-time basis.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and understands the importance of consistent behaviour management, structure, and clear expectations. You will play a key role in maintaining a calm, purposeful learning environment while delivering pre-prepared Maths work and supporting pupils to remain engaged and regulated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher, primarily within Maths lessons
  • Implementing clear behaviour strategies to support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Establishing positive relationships built on trust, consistency, and boundaries
  • Promoting a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment
  • Supporting pupils to stay on task and complete set work
  • Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure continuity and consistency

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
  • Be confident, calm, and assertive in managing behaviour positively
  • Have a good level of Maths knowledge and confidence supporting Maths learning
  • Be reliable, resilient, and adaptable
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting pupils who may struggle in mainstream settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
