Cover Supervisor – Secondary School

Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Lewis Road, Kettering
Salary: Pay to scale (depending on level of experience)
Contract: Full-time

We have immediate opportunities for day-to-day supply work, which can be full-time or part-time depending on your availability and flexibility.

We also offer long-term positions with the potential to develop into permanent roles.

Your role will be to supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during the short-term absence of the class teacher. This includes taking the register, delivering pre-set work, and ensuring pupils understand and complete the tasks set. You will also be responsible for managing student behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy and addressing any issues in accordance with school procedures.

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging behaviour
  • Supporting pupils in their learning as effectively as possible
  • Assisting students with additional educational needs
  • Maintaining a structured and engaging classroom environment

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have prior experience working in a school setting
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
  • Have a friendly, positive, and proactive attitude
  • Are passionate about education
  • Can use initiative and work independently
  • Are reliable, adaptable, and a strong team player
  • Possess good organisational and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
