Do you have experience of working with large groups of teenagers such as sports coaching, charity, youth work, as a Coach, Instructor?

Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of an Alternative Provision Worthing who are looking for a Cover Supervisor who can work on a full time basis, initially on a temporary contract, but this could lead to a permanent role depending on performance.

The School is an independent education provision, registered with Ofsted with 'Good' rating, to educate students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties aged 6 to 16 years and able to offer placements to both residential and day students.

The School offers a broad and balanced curriculum in core and non-core subjects to gain a range of qualifications including GCSEs, ASDAN qualifications, functional skills and Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Being willing and able to supervise classes of 11-16 year-olds, managing behaviour in line with school policies
  • Delivering lessons from a range of subjects across the national curriculum set by a qualified teacher, with no planning or marking involved
  • Engaging with the pupils and keeping them on task, assisting with queries where possible
  • Dealing with any immediate issues or emergencies according to the school policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Experience of working with secondary age children, which can be referenced (voluntary work included
  • An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) - we can help with this
  • A flexible, punctual, professional and approachable manner
  • The ability to establish rapport quickly with children whilst maintaining a high standard of control and discipline
  • A degree qualification or a qualification in teaching and learning support (advantageous, not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
