Role: Cover Supervisor
Location: South Manchester
Salary: GBP275 - GBP350 per week
Start Date: 7/9/2020
The role advertised relates to the need for a Cover Supervisor for schools in Manchester. As a cover supervisor, the position focuses on covering staff absences. These absences usually relate to staff sickness, however can also be due to factors such as interviews or school trips. There will not be any expectancy for the required applicant to deal with pastoral issues, nor will they have to offer preparation guidance for issues such as examinations. Instead, Cover Supervisors are expected to ensure that pupils are fully focused on the tasks that have been pre-set in advance within the classroom. The required applicant will need to be able to develop relationships with students when required, to ensure that children are consistently aware of the expectancy of school policy. The role advertised will begin after the Easter break, and will run until the end of the academic year.
This opportunity presents itself as the ideal opportunity to applicants from the following backgrounds:
- Those who have experience working within a community/youth setting.
- People who have worked with young people within a sports coaching capacity.
- Graduates, who are looking to gain experience before enrolling onto a PGCE or related educational qualification.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Being able to display a confident demeanour in ensuring that children are working to complete the tasks set.
- Offering support when required, being able to effectively work within the guidelines of school policy.
- Access to training and regular CPD courses.
