Are you graduate with aspirations of becoming a Secondary Teacher but lack the required experience?
Are you looking for flexible work as a classroom Cover Supervisor in a Secondary School local to South Woodham Ferrers?
Our client Secondary School are looking to recruit a confident and enthusiastic graduate to become a Cover Supervisor to support the school with their short term teacher absences on a flexible basis.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
As a Cover Supervisor, your role will involve covering a range of lessons in the absence of class teachers in the event of short term sickness or internal training.
Each day you work, you will report to the cover manager at the school to be briefed on your timetable for the day. Your day to day responsibilities will involve delivering pre-set work to a class of pupils and ensure they remain on task with this. Once the lesson is completed, you will collect in the work and hand it back to the appropriate teacher.
A Cover Supervisor works as an unqualified teacher and so will give you the best first hand experience of managing a classroom if you are considering a career in secondary teaching!
Highlights of the Cover Supervisor position:
- Regular work at a local Secondary School
- Earn a weekly rate of GBP300 - GBP350
- Flexible work to suit your availability (e.g. 1 - 5 days a week)
- Starting immediately – regular work throughout the academic year
- CPD opportunities including a course on how to be a Cover Supervisor, a free Safeguarding course and Team Teach etc.
- Great way to gain experience if considering a PGCE
The successful candidate will ideally:
- Hold a degree
- Have aspirations of becoming a secondary teacher
- Have some availability for flexible short notice work
- Be confident in order to manage a class of pupils
- Have previous experience in a similar setting or working with young people
- Have access to your own transport (some of our schools are difficult to reach via public transport)
To apply for the role of Cover Supervisor, please submit an updated CV below!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
