Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Essex)

Location: Essex
Pay: £100–£140 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Zero-hour contract

About the Role

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with prior school experience who are confident managing classrooms and maintaining a positive learning environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in to deliver pre-set work in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment
  • Support students with their learning as required
  • Follow school policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience working in a UK school setting (essential)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Confident, adaptable, and reliable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for supporting young people in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
