Job description
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Essex Secondary Schools
We are currently recruiting experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support a range of schools across Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students and making a real impact in the classroom.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a school or educational setting
- Strong knowledge of core subjects (English, Maths, and Science)
- Confident supporting students both 1:1 and in small groups
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships
SEND Experience (Highly Desirable)
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with SEND experience, including:
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs
- Speech & Language support
- Working with EHCPs
Specialist Skills – WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
If you have any specialist experience, please highlight this immediately:
- Behaviour support / intervention experience
- Team Teach or Thrive training (not essential but highly desirable)
- Experience in SEN schools, PRUs, or alternative provisions
- Personal care experience
- De-escalation techniques or behaviour management expertise

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
